Our Mission

The Pillars of Promise is a nonprofit organization that provides peer support to currently incarcerated people and those transitioning back into society. We build sustained relationships with incarcerated men and women prior to their release, offering psychological support and connections to legal, educational, employment, and mental health resources that promote rehabilitation and successful reintergration.

We also advocate for criminal legal system reforms, including the Second Look Act, which expands resentencing opportunities for individuals serving excessive sentences. In addition, we promote equitable treatment of incarcerated people and increased access to transformative, therapeutic, and socially empowering programs.
