Ismael Diaz is a Hudson Link graduate who delivered the 2016 commencement address at Mercy University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science with Honors. He credits Hudson Link with opening doors that reshaped the course of his life. A dedicated advocate for justice reform, Ismael played a key role in advancing New York State’s #CleanSlate legislation, helping secure record‑sealing opportunities for eligible formerly incarcerated individuals.
As a Community Organizer with the Center for Community Alternatives and a board member at Hudson Link, he continues to champion equity, dignity, and second chances across New York State. A proud New York City native, Ismael brings resilience, creativity, and heart to every space he enters, grounded by his love for family and his commitment to community.
As an advisor for The Pillars of Promise, Ismael remains steadfast in his mission to uplift others, expand opportunities, and advocate for those whose voices are too often unheard.
